Past Lessons, Future Theories
Boingboing has a post about using
ipods to
record. The more sensible thing is to do what I did: buy an
iIriver H120. Examples of line in recordings I've made are
here. The originals were 256kpbs mp3s, downsampled to 192.
When BoingBoing hits:
here's a graph of how hits have gone up at
philipdowney.com since my site was mentioned on
Boingboing, a very popular blog.
Next Monday I will be featuring my favourite songs, tracks and albums from 2004. Monday, 7-9, of course.

Computers occasionally amaze me. Yes, the moon has subtle colors, it's not just white and grey. But
this site shows how to bring colour out of digital photographs. All of a sudden, the moon is in full colour, related to its elemental composition.
Last Saturday I dj'ed at Volume in Toronto with some friends from
Groove Nation. I have
posted four mixes for downloading from that night. PL-1's is funk, drum & bass, and electro, mine is progressive house, Bill's is house, and Sascha's is house, techno and trance.

I decided to add
Singing Science Records to my bookmarks. I didn't know if it should be in 'Science' or 'Music.' Ultimately, I chose science.
